Sphalerite crystals in Prehnite

RARE, impressive and sculptural large geode of solid mint-green prehnite botryoids from this very well-known Jurassic-aged basalt Traprock quarry in Connecticut. The striking interior of the geode, fringe and outer faces host a scattering of two generations of tiny sphalerite crystals, desirable and uncommon accessories. The sphalerites reach about 4 mm and are dark olive-green and gemmy light green. There are even a couple of gemmy, colorless apophyllite crystals on the outside, to 5 mm. Backlighting highlights the translucence and mint-green hue of prehnite. An outstanding and rare large solid prehnite geode with sphalerite. We have never seen another "pocket piece" like this for prehnite, and it's a great location as well! Hard to value, as it is so interesting, big, and colorful as a bonus.
