Item Description

The world-famous Elmwood Mine is honestly only produces a handful of good crystallized species, but the best of a few of these species are the finest in the world for what they are. Here we have a wonderful multiply-terminated, lustrous, compound crystal gropu of sharp, well-formed crystals of the well-known, deep reddish-brown "Ruby Jack" Sphalerite from Elmwood. I would decribe the piece is a big crystallized "flower" or "mountain". Great condition on the display side, though there are a few nicks here and there. These are classics and some of the most interesting and eye-catching crystallized Sphalerite groups in the world. Specimen weight is 897 grams. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
