An exceptional large combination pseudomorph from the renowned polymetallic mines at Dalnegorsk. Bright brassy Chalcopyrite has pseudomorphed an impressive complete all-around hexagonal Pyrrhotite crystal. A portion of the pseudo is partially cloaked by small splendent, jet-black Sphalerite crystals. A dramatic contrast and complement are the rich patches of sprays of glassy quartz points coated with druzy milky quartz. Dalnegorsk mines are renowned for world-class combination sulfide specimens and this is an impressive and aesthetic example. Pieces such as this came out in the early 1990s to mid-2000s. Hefty rich ore at 1570 grams or 3.5 pounds. The mines at Dalnegorsk have produced the world's finest Pyrrhotite specimens and this is an outstanding pseudomorph combination.
