Item Description

An impressive, large, 6.8 x 6.6 x 4.8 cm, blocky compound sphalerite crystal is dramatically and aesthetically set on the sculptural large silicified limestone matrix covered with sparkly dolomite rhombs, smaller sphalerites and sections of barite balls. The highly lustrous, moderately translucent crystal has classic rubyjack color and the few tiny doubly terminated amber calcite crystals are a classic accent. This is a very fine large older single sphalerite crystal from 1980s finds at the famed Elmwood Mine and was formerly in the Consie Prince Collection. Valued at $750-1000. Classic material.
