The famous mines at Dalnegorsk produced a world-class variety of sulfide combination specimens in the 1990s to early 2000s and this is very fine small cabinet example. A large, 3.8 x 3.8 x 3.5 cm, splendent sphalerite crystal has fabulous, chevron-shaped, stepped-growth faces and is aesthetically set in a jackstraw forest of glassy quartz points, that reach 2.5 cm. The sphalerite is pristine and the quartz has only trivial periphery wear. A 360-degree combination specimen with excellent visual appeal. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and was valued by Herb at $350, more than five years ago.
