Splendent, twinned, jet-black sphalerite crystals shot through with diverging parallel veins of lustrous and brassy, microcrystalline pyrrohite form and impressive and striking, LARGE CABINET, combination specimen from this historic Balkan locality - the Stari Trg Mine. The sculptural, very 3-dimensional piece looks like a stylized bird, moth or butterfly .with the elongated central body and wings on either side. Tiny pyrite cubes are nested in some of the crevasses. The backside really highlights the striking multitude of bladed pyrrhotite veins. Very fine and large combo sulfide ore material from this well-known district from the Zukowski Collection. Hefty zinc ore at 4.6 pounds or 2.1 kilos.
