Sphalerite, Amethyst & Calcite

Splendent, gemmy to translucent, rootbeer-brown sphalerite crystals are aesthetically and richly clustered on the large matrix plate along with knobby clusters of tiny amethsyt points and few yellowish calcite crystals. This is very showy and excellent combination material from the Shuikoushan Mine of China. These sphalerites are considered to be some of the finest in the world. Very little new material has come out recently and this fine piece has only modest periphery wear. The backlit photo highlights the beautiful color saturation and gemminess of some of these crystals.
