Bulgaria is probably the best active region producing gem quality Sphalerite in the world right now. Some of the best gem quality green, yellow and orange Sphalerite in the world is found in the Madan Region of Bulgaria. This particular gem is a good sized stone with a custom "Modified Mixed Mumble Brilliant" cut. Now the gem is just a tad dark in reflected light, but under strong lighting, it shows a nice mix of yellow, golden-brown, amber and sienna hues. This stone has very slight inclusions, but is certainly one of the better gems that we've offered from the locality recently. A cool collector's gem, and well worth the starting bid for the size.
