Some of the finest gem grade green Sphalerites come from the Madan region in Bulgaria. I have seen cut stones of this material that are so intense in color, they actually show a blue shade! This piece features several sharp, semi-lustrous, gemmy, pleasing green color modified crystals of Sphalerite up to 1.0 cm which are sitting on white Quartz matrix. The quality is good for the material, and there are plenty of crystals on the specimen. An attractive small cabinet piece from this well-known Sphalerite producing locality. Valued at $600.
