Sphalerite

Item Description

Classic specimen of greenish-amber Sphalerite, on matrix, from Kazakhstan. The Sphalerites in this rich cluster range up to about 7 mm in size, with a luster that is excellent on the striated faces and silky on the flat faces. Examples of this preferential growth are always an amazing phenomena, and it adds so much interest mineralogically. There is some edgewear, but the crystals are so bright and sparkly that it all just blends right in. A very good, representative specimen from Kazakhstan, with good aesthetics.
