Bulgaria is probably the best active region producing gem quality Sphalerite in the world right now. Some of the best gem quality green, yellow and orange Sphalerite in the world is found in the Madan Region of Bulgaria. This particular gem is a good size, attractive, beautiful green color stone with a "Trillion" cut. This stone has some very slight inclusions, but it is virtually impossible to find completely eye clean gems in this size from this area. Keep in mind that the high dispersion of Sphalerite allows for tremendous color play. Virtually every Sphalerite you see from this area is unique because they all have their own distinctive coloration or mixture of colors, and when you see a stone like this that is just LOADED with color, you know you've got a special gem.
