Item Description

Lustrous, twinned jet-black sphalerite crystals are densely intergrown and form a sculptural large mounded heart-shaped plate from the famous Stari Trg Mine at Trepca. The large crystal on the top of the plate is 2.2 cm long. A 1.1 cm cluster of small calcite crystals on the left edge and a 7 mm cluster of siderite crystal near the right edge are a nice contrast and typical accessories. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock. A rich and showy large sphalerite specimen from this historic and classic polymetallic skarn deposit.
