Item Description

Fine quality, lustrous, translucent, magenta colored "rosettes" of the cobalt carbonate, Sphaerocobaltite on matrix. Classic old material from this famous depost in the Congo. This is a rare mineral, and with such beautiful color, would make a great addition to any collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12368). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
