Item Description

A rarely seen Spessartine specimen from the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. This piece was personally collected by Richard Kosnar in the late 1970s. The Spessartine crystals on this specimen are very sharp and lustrous with rich orange color, nearly gem quality, textbook trapezohedrons, associated with Smoky Quartz, Muscovite and Potassium Feldspar. It should be noted that the predominant Smoky Quartz crystal is actually DOUBLY-TERMINATED, as you can see from the full view photos. A great reference piece for anybody who collects this material.
