A few large, rich red color, lustrous trapezohedral Spessartine crystals are associated with minor gemmy/translucent Quartz The largest Spessartine measures 2.5 cm across, which is very good sized for the locality. For Garnet collectors, this is an attractive Fe-rich Spessartine specimen, and the pieces from Shengus are among the best red Spessartines in the world. The piece is not 100% perfect, but it does have some large crystals, and considering how sharp and lustrous they are, the damage is somewhat forgiveable.
