Item Description

Very good combination piece featuring gemmy and lustrous Spessartines. These Garnets range from wine-red to orange, and they are all gemmy (the largest one is gemmy, but so deep in color the light has to work) and have excellent luster. The red Spessartine is the largest, being an impressive 2 cm across. The beveled edges on this large Spessartine are eye-catching, and for interest the crystal is even impaled on the back by a Schorl, so it is not quite complete all around. The Spessartines are associated with Muscovite crystals and Quartz, along with minor Schorl. This is attractive, and the range of Spessartines make it particulalry interesting. Originally priced at $650, this was formerly in the collection of Joe Key.
