Item Description

This is a very interesting specimen from Shengus featuring dozens of small (up to 4 mm), sharp, lovely wine-red, gemmy, Spessartine crystals sit atop a layer of greenish-grey Muscovite on blocky white Microcline matrix, but the most important aspect of the piece is that it features blocky, lavender-pink color hexagonal crystals of Apatite measuring up to 1.1 cm. Additionally (and not pictured), there are a few small cubic crystals of what we believe to be Limonite pseudomorphs after Pyrite! For Garnet collectors, this is a great association specimen, and a fairly worthwhile piece of this well-known material. Despite the fact that these pieces are fairly well-known on the market, they are some of the very few red Spessartines available these days from any locality.
