Item Description

Pretty rich cinnamon-orange, scintillating, gemmy spessartine garnet crystals, to 5 mm, richly carpet the feldspar and smoky quartz matrix. Interestingly, the spessartines only partially cover the the two major smokies on the sculptural small cabinet. The imposing upright 5.2 cm, sharply terminated smoky is actually mostly water-clear and has glass-clear, satin luster and frosted prism faces. A striking and highly unusual feature to the large smoky are the three termination faces with a clay-included secondary quartz overgrowth. Fascinating crystal chemistry on this bizarre looking and very showy combination.
