This is an exceptionally cute miniature combination specimen with two rare discrete spessartines dramatically emplaced on a mounded microcline matrix covered with tiny smoky quartz crystals. The gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, orangish-red spessartine garnets reach 1.0 cm and have textbook trapezohedral crystal form. A small cluster of intergrown spessartines is hidden behind the crowning glory crystal. The spessartine crystal quality and isolation, combination with the smoky quartz and overall aesthetics easily rank this piece among the very best in this size range, that we have offered at auction from Tongbei.
