Spessartine & Smoky Quartz on Microcline

Water-clear, sharply terminated, light smoky quartz crystals, to 4.2 cm, are aesthetically scattered and strikingly enveloped up to their terminations by a myriad of scintillating, gemmy , beautiful rich cinnamon-orange spessartine garnet trapezohedrons on the sculptural large prepared matrix plate of microcline. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only out-of-sight periphery wear on the right side and a broken, healed smoky on the back of the plate. See the 2005 Mineralogical Record article in China Special Issue-I, Vol. 36, No. 1. The original locality is now extinct. An excellent, showy and rich older large combination plate of this varietal from the finds and now extinct locale. Better than the photos can convey, this one is sparkly! valued $1250
