Tongbei is known almost exclusively for its classic spessartine/smoky quartz combinations and fine helvites - but rarely, it produces fluorites too. Sharp, glassy, pretty purple, fluroite octahedrons to 1.1 cm are aesthetically set on the very showy, 3-dimensional felspar matrix covered with classic, gemmy, cinnamon-orange spesartine garnets and sharp, partially coated smoky quartz crystals to 2.6 cm. The smokies are pristine and the bit of perphery wear is certainly not a detraction to this rare and fine combination piece. This locale is now officially closed. So the price will go up on fine quality specimens.
