This sparkling garnet specimen has a style typical of Shengus material, with deep red color and sharp textbook form to the garnet crystals. Normally, we see only isolated garnets or small crystals dispersed across big surfaces, but this is a rare three-dimensional cluster, dramatic in style. It has a cluster of wine-red garnets perched atop stunning white feldspar crystals for contrast, and is complete all around., not the usual flat plate. The garnet cluster is 7 cm across, and individual garnets reach 2 cm, with no damage. This is a superb small cabinet specimen for the style, because of the richness and the contrast both.
