Spessartine Garnet with Smoky Quartz

The Spessartine Garnet specimens from the Wushan Mine are some of the most attractive and highly displayable specimens to come out of China. The excellent size, color, crystallization and overall display specimens make them some of the best Garnets from any contemporary locality worldwide. This particular piece features many lustrous, sharp, well-formed, strong orange-red trapezohedrons measuring up to 3 mm associated with a Smoky Quartz crystal in the center sitting on cream colored Microcline matrix. Very little damage (only a few small imperfections), and fun to view up close. The color in the Spessartine crystals is very attractive, and they are not at all dull or pitted. A really nice piece of this material which is becoming less and less available on the market. Keep in mind that there are only a few worldwide localities that produce this color of Spessartine in fine specimens.
