Spessartine garnets and rhodonite are the most attractive silicates from famed Broken Hill. Gemmy cherry-red to orange red modified dodecahedrons cover the mounded essentially solid spessartine matrix intermixed with galena sections. The crystals look rich wine-red under normal lighting.
