Gemmy, golden-orange spessartine garnets preferentially sheath the glassy smoky quartz crystals and cover the blocky feldspar crystals on this exceptional 360-degree piece from Tongbei. Both of the transparent dark smokies have amazing phantoms outlined by tiny spessartines, revealed by bright light. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. Very trivial bruising to the tip of the large smoky is noted and the contact on the side of this crystal has no damage to the smoky. Way above average combination material for the locale, which is now in a National Park. BETTER in person.
