An impressive and very aesthetic combination from the Shigar Valley and the Herb Obodda dealer stock. A 1.5 cm, lustrous, wine-red spessartine garnet dodecahedron is dramatically set on the front of a striking cluster of water-clear to frosted, sharply terminated, smoky quartz crystals with numerous radiation "burn" spots. The spessartine GLOWS with cherry-red gemminess, when backlit! The smokies are very artistically set on the sculptural, blocky, albite crystal matrix. Nearly pristine. A tiny bruise is noted on the spessartine and one of the smoky tips is gently bruised, which are certainly only very modest detractions to this very fine combination. Herb valued this excellent piece at $750, over five years ago.
