An impressive and excellent large combination plate from recent finds at Tongbei. The sculptural 3-dimensional quality of the clustered smokies partially sheathed in spessartines adds drama and panache to this showy piece. The glassy, water-clear to translucent smokies are classically complimented by the gemmy and lustrous, cinnamon-orange, spessartines. The smokies are in great shape, with only trivial bruising to one tip and one crystal with side wear on the right side. All of the many interior smokies are pristine. Certainly a minimal detraction to this very fine large combination piece. The base has been sawed to enhance the display. With the closing of the locale, such pieces will only increase in value.
