Item Description

A striking combination example of the famous spessartine garnets from China. The gemmy garnets are preferentially studded to richly sprinkled on all of the sides of the glassy smoky quartz crystal, but not on the termination faces! The spessartines have supreme luster and gemminess and there are two shades of crystals! The larger and far fewer crystals, to 6 mm in size, are the classic cinnamon-orange. The multitude of scintillating smaller crystals are golden-yellow. A beautiful contrast. The stout smoky is water-clear at the termination, with the internal crazing, visible garnets on the back of the crystal and sparkling stepped-growth prism faces adding much character. Super trivial, barely noticeable bruising to the quartz termination is out of sight on the back of the crystal. Contacting is noted on one side and at the base, but there is really very little damage, per se. A gorgeous and stunning combination with attached sparkly jewels!
