Spessartine Garnet on Smoky Quartz

These gorgeous specimens are some of the most attractive and highly displayable pieces to come out in China in the last 20 years. This is a fine quality miniature sized piece featuring many of sharp, very gemmy, lustrous, bright orange color, textbook dodecahedral crystals of Spessartine Garnet measuring up to about 2 mm which are sitting on richly colored, prismatic, hexagonal Smoky Quartz crystals on beige colored Microcline matrix. The piece is in excellent condition, and I can't find any major damage anywhere. I love how the Garnets are so well-isolated and some are just sitting beautifully atop the Smoky Quartz crystals. It's important to point out that the Garnets are brilliant, sharp and smooth - no pitting or dull faces anywhere. Garnet is a well known mineral, but you have to keep in mind that it's quite rare to find brilliant orange Spessartines from any locality in the world, let alone on Quartz crystals like this.
