Fascinating, excellent and unusual spessartine garnet and smoky quartz from Tongbei. Beautiful gem, cinnamon-orange spessartine garnet trapezohedrons, to 5 mm, are aesthetically embedded on all of the prism and terminations faces. The very glassy, lustrous, 360-degree smoky has fine color, a beautiful limpid termination above a translucent body, dramatic stepped-growth faces and striking and unusual impressions on all prism faces, where spessartines have come off of the quartz. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only a trivial wilber on the back side of the termination. An exceptional and unusual combination from Tongbei. Little, if any new material has come out in the last five years.
