Two generations of gemmy and lustrous, spessartine garnets sheath the sharply terminated smoky quartz crystal on this impressive 360-degree combination piece from Tongbei. Larger rich cinnamon-orange and smaller, mostly underlying, amber, spessartine garnets nearly cover the lustrous, opaque smoky quartz crystals with frosted termination faces. I really like the way the sharp smoky quartz termination is bare. Very nearly pristine. A gentle out-of-sight bruise to the back tip of the smoky and a broken spessartine on the back are totally out of sight. Prices will go up, with the closing of the locale.
