An adorable matched pair of spessartine garnets on smoky quartz crystals from Tongbei. Two generations of gemmy and lustrous, larger cinnamon-orange and smaller amber, spessartine garnets fully sheath lustrous, opaque smoky quartz crystals with frosted termination faces. I really like the way the sharp smoky quartz terminations are bare. Impressive 360-degree combination pieces. The taller crystal has a pristine termination. The contact on back exposes the totally undamaged, very highly lustrous, stepped-growth prism face. The shorter smoky is complete all-around, with only a tiny ding on the termination. We have recently heard, that this locale is now officially closed. Prices will go up.
