Spessartine Garnet on Doubly-Terminated Smoky Quartz

These are some of the most easily recognizable and iconic Garnet specimens from any world locality. They have become classics and stand as some of the most attractive and highly displayable pieces to come out of any discovery in China. This fantastic cabinet sized specimen features dozens upon dozens of very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, gorgeous orange color trapezohedral crystals (some showing dodecahedral modifications) of Spessartine Garnet which measure up to 5 mm across sitting along the prism faces of a fine quality, DOUBLY-TERMINATED, sharp, translucent / gemmy, prismatic, hexagonal crystal of Smoky Quartz. The piece is in excellent condition, though there is a tiny nick on the main termination of the Smoky, but I can't find any major damage anywhere else. The bottom termination of the Quartz actually has several "stepped" or "teeth"-like terminations, where it detached from the pocket wall and recrystallized ("re-healed") creating essentially a complete "floater" specimen. It's important to note that all of the Garnets are sharp, smooth and glistening showing no signs of etched / pitted faces. When it comes to Garnet, there are thousands of localities around the world to produce specimens, but it's honestly not terribly common to find wonderful orange colored crystals like this, let alone on a nearly 6-inch long Quartz crystal like this.
