A very fine and aesthetic old-time combination specimen from the renowned Broken Hill deposit and the Art Soregaroli Collection. Lustrous, sharp spessatine garnet dodecahedrons aesthetically fill a sculptural vug lined with metallic galena crystals. The large spessartine is 1.3 cm and all of the crystals in the vug are pristine. The spessartines are wine-red under normal light, but GLOW with orangy cherry-red gemminess under bright light! The hefty matrix, at 433 grams mass, is imposing in its on right. It is nearly solid microcrystalline spessartine with scattered areas of galena. Classic Broken Hill combination material. The piece displays beautifully without aid.
