Spessartine Garnet (excellent crystals) on Microcline

China has been producing a plethora of fine crystallized mineral specimens for over 20 years, and the iconic Spessartine Garnets the Wushan Mine are some of the most recognized pieces to come from any Chinese locality. These are remarkable for their form and color, and are soon-to-be-classics, certainly among the finest examples of Spessartine from anywhere in the modern era of mineral collecting. This wonderful miniature specimen features a sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich orange-red color crystals of Spessartine Garnet showing textbook trapezohedral faces which measure up to 8 mm across associated sitting on white Microcline matrix. A tiny bit of greenish Muscovite can be seen in places for a nice touch. The crystals are very good sized for the locality, and the color is deeper than most you'll find. They GLOW with color when backlit. The piece is in excellent condition, as I can't find any major damage with the naked eye. It's important to note that all of the Garnets are sharp, smooth and glistening showing no signs of etched / pitted faces. When it comes to Garnet, there are thousands of localities around the world to produce specimens, but it's honestly not terribly common to find saturated red colored crystals like this. Valued for the size and quality of the crystals, and relative rarity on the market now.
