Item Description
A gorgeous and sculptural specimen of the famous wine-red colored Spessartine Garnets from Shengus. This locality is known for producing some of the finest crystallized red Spessartines from any world locality. This miniature sized specimen features one predominant, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, deep red colored trapezohedral crystal of Spessartine measuring 1.2 cm associated with a couple of smaller Spessartines of equal quality on blocky off-white colored Microcline matrix. The main Spessartine crystal is in excellent shape on the display side, though there is a bit of interrupted growth on the reverse side where it grew against the pocket wall. The piece displays beautifully on its own without the aid of a base of clay, and we've noticed that the piece has a bit of a resemblance to the Daleks from Doctor Who. Priced in the inventory at $950.
