Item Description
A dramatic and aesthetic spessartine garnet and smoky quartz specimen from Tongbei, China. A 3.3 cm, mostly enveloped, double tower of smoky quartz crystals protects the matrix field COVERED with gemmy and lustrous, burnt-orange spessartines to 1.0 cm (at the base of the smokies). I really like the way the termination of the smokies are spessartine-free. Yes, there are thousands of these out there, but this is a pretty darn rich and good one. And its pristine. It displays beautifully from many angles.
