Item Description
When it comes to iconic minerals of China, the gorgeous Spessartines from Wushan are without questions some of the most attractive and highly displayable pieces to come out in China in the last 20 years. I think it's safe to say that these are the most recognized Garnets from any locality in the entire country. This is a good quality miniature specimen featuring sharp, gemmy, lustrous, rich orange-red colored crystals of Spessartine Garnet measuring up to 7 mm which are sitting on white Microcline matrix. The Garnets show excellent trapezohedral faces. The piece is in very good condition with minimal damage. I love the fact that the Garnets are brilliant, sharp and smooth - no pitting or dull faces anywhere. Garnet is a well known mineral, but you have to keep in mind that it's quite rare to find Spessartines like this on matrix from any locality these days.
