With that said, it's quite difficult to get your hands on gem orange Spessartine crystals these days from any locality. These Spessartines are some of the most attractive and highly displayable specimens to come out in many years. They are now regarded and Chinese classics. This particular piece features several translucent to gemmy, strong orange color, textbook trapezohedral crystals of Spessartine measuring up to 6 mm associated with bladed silvery Muscovite and minor Smoky Quartz on white Microcline Feldspar matrix. The crystals show VERY HIGH LUSTER and excellent form. The color in the Spessartine crystals is very attractive, and they are not at all dull or pitted. These are disappearing as the locality hasn't produced anything in a few years, and it's quite rare to find such well-formed Spessartine crystals on matrix like this from virtually any world locality these days.
