Spessartine Garnet

Item Description

Two generations of gemmy and lustrous, spessartine garnets are densely clustered on microcline matrix. The earlier generation of smaller, golden-yellow spessartines is topped with larger, rich cinnamon-orange crystals to 6 mm. The periphery wear (that's a quartz crystal section on the bottom) and contact in the center with a bit of bruising are noted. A showy, rich and highly representative example of the species and locale.
