The recent discovery of these highly etched but completely terminated spessartine garnets created quite a splash, and you can see why. The sculptural aesthetics, luster and clarity are superb, which are complemented by the lovely wine-red color. It is safe to say these have become very sought-after, and this is an excellent example of this recent find. It is even better in person. The stepped patterns on this particular piece are amazing! The backlit photos really highlight the beautiful wine-red color saturation and gemmyness. This fine piece can be displayed in nearly any orientation. This super floater is nearly pristine, with only one trivial, out of the way contact. A very high quality spessartine from this find.
