Item Description
Spessartine Garnets range from either orange or red depending upon their chemistry. The orange stones are more manganese-rich, while the red gems have more iron in their chemistry. This stone is on the orange side with a very slight reddish overtone, but the overall color is pleasingly deep and saturated. It comes from what we're told is a new find in Kenya, but no specific locality was given. The quality and richness of the color make it a very desirable gem, perfect for a ring or pendant. The stone has a "Cushion" cut, and eye-clean clarity. Really good quality and color, and certainly different from the material that came out of Nigeria many years ago, or even the more contemporary stones from Tanzania.
