Item Description

These beautiful, iconic, fine quality and honestly soon-to-be-classic Spessartines from the Wushan Mine are some of the best Garnet specimens from any world locality to come out in the last quarter century. They truly stand out as being some of the most attractive and highly displayable pieces to come out of any discovery in China. This large thumbnail sized piece features very sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich red-orange color crystals of Spessartine Garnet showing textbook trapezohedral faces with slight striations, measuring up 8 mm across, free of matrix. A tiny bit of accenting silvery-green Muscovite can be seen on the back of the piece. The crystals are larger than average for the locality, and they look beautiful when backlit. The piece is in excellent condition, as I can't find any major damage with the naked eye. It's important to note that all of the Garnets are sharp, smooth and glistening showing no signs of etched / pitted faces.
