Spessartine Garnet

Here we have a very attractive red Spessartine Garnet gem from Tanzania. The color is very saturated, even with the smaller size. Red Spessartines have more iron content than their orange counterparts, which have more manganese content. The stone is virtually eye-clean with a "Heart" cut. These gems are extremely attractive, and I've actually had a hard time buying good quality gems for reasonable prices these days. I recently saw these gems offered at a show for much higher prices than I'm used to seeing which means that somebody is buying them up, or they're becoming more and popular due to the fact that they're disappearing from the market.
