Item Description
Textbook sharp form on this gorgeous, rich mandarin-orange, lustrous, gemmy/translucent spessartine garnet crystal from the 2007-2008 finds in Tanzania. The crystal has striking flashes of rich golden-yellow color and many of the faces and enhanced by subte striations and ripples. Complete all-around. The contact with a bit of embedded matrix is out-of-sight on the base of the piece. The crystal GLOWS, when back lit! A significant and beautiful large spessartine with 152 grams mass and a lot of geometric appeal, too. NOW GONE - no more are being found! Valued highly as specimens of this quality and size are not on the market anymore. Ex Bill Larson Garnet Collection. Even at the time they came out, this would have been a significant large crystal, valued at over $2500, even then. Try finding one this good, now.
