Item Description
A striking, well-placed, 1.3 cm, gemmy and lustrous orange-red spessartine garnet highlights this sculptural small cabinet plate festooned with gemmy and lustrous, cinnamon-orange spessartines, to 7 mm, from recent finds at the well-known Wushan Spessartine Mine. The garnets have classic, striated, stepped-growth faces, adding much character to the piece. SW UV light reveals a RARE bonus - the exposed matrix on the left edge is coated with SW UV neon-green fluorescent hyalite opal. Ex. Ken Roberts China Collection and valued by him at $1200 over 3 years ago. Rare, rich and excellent combination material from the locale.
