Item Description

A 1.4 cm, textbook spessartine trapezohedron is elegantly perched on the starkly contrasting and unusally euhedral, large blocky albite crystal matrix. The crystal looks root-beer brown under low-light conditions, but GLOWS under bright light. When backlit, the crystal has beautiful bands of reddish-orange gemminess. The spessartine is complete all-around and pristine and the small spessartines are a super accent. The right side of the albite appears to be a cleavage, and the contacting on the back is mostly out of sight, but are certainly only modest detractions. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this very fine and uncommon combination piece at $800, more than six years ago. Valued at $1000-1250 today and worth it.
