Item Description
A pair of classic specimens of the famous Spessartines from Ruby Mountain - which was most likely erroneously named for the red Garnets found there. Each piece features a sharp, lustrous, well-formed, deep reddish colored trapezohedra of Spessartine on Rhyolite matrix. The Garnets measure approximately 2.5-3 mm and look beautiful under magnification. Both pieces were self-collected by Dave Bergman, a Colorado miner (the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s) and the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar.
