Item Description
Sharp, highly lustrous 2mm crystal of Sperrylite right on the tip of a matrix shard composed of a very interestring suite of minerals (cubanite, pentlandite, etc). For the locality, this is quite an excellent, attractive Sperrylite. The old Ward's label indicates this is from the "Frood Mine" but we can be 99% sure, given the complete identity to Vermillion mine material we have handled, and the lack of documented sperrylite actually comign out of the Frood mine in good crystals, that this is in fact from the nearby Vermillion Mine (often mine names were confused on purpose to hide the origins as the miners are not supposed to collect, so this happens a lot especially in the old days). This is the type locality material, then, for this rare platinum species
