Item Description

Specimens of the platinum arsenide, sperrylite, are RARE from any South Africa locality and are VERY RARE from the two mines in Mokopane. The limonite matrix holds two, well-placed, sharp, splendent crystals to 4 mm, one on the crest and one on a side. Double your pleasure with this fine rarity from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection. He obtained this by exchange with the Roussow Collection in Jo'burg in 1967. Valued at $900-1000. Such pieces are only seen today in a few museums, and few seemed to have been preserved.
